ANTI RAGGING CELL
In pursuance to the Judgement of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India dated 08.05.2009 in Civil Appeal No. 887/2009, the UGC had notified “Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009” Based on this An anti-ragging cell is formed in the college on curbing the menace of ragging in AICTE approved Technical Institution, to prohibit, prevent and eliminate the scourge of ragging.
Ragging constitutes one or more of any of the following acts:
1 .Any conduct by any student or students whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student.
2. Indulging in any act that Prevents, Disrupts the Regular Academic Activity.
3. Asking any student to do any act which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame, embarrassment to adversely affect the physique or psyche of any student.
4.Exploiting the services of a fresher or any other student for completing the academic tasks assigned to an individual or a group of students.
5. Any act of financial extortion or forceful expenditure burden put on a fresher or any other student by students.
6. Any Act of Physical Abuse causing Assault, Harm or danger to Health, sexual abuse.
7. Any Act of injury or infringement of the fundamental right to the human dignity.
8. Any Act of abuse by spoken words, emails, SMS or public insult etc.

Anti-Ragging Act
RAGGING IS AN OFFENCE PUNISHABLE AS PER LAW- RESULTING IN IMPRISONMENT AND / OR HEAVY PENALTY

Ragging means causing physical and / or mental trauma to a person as a result of physical abuse, manhandling , using abusive language or gestures or forcing to perform acts that may cause physical/mental damage.
Ragging is a social, cultural, and psychological menace.
Students are urged to keep-up the glorious tradition of NIETM and not to indulge in any activity within or outside the campus that may be construed as or amounts to ragging.
Any student, if found involved in any such activity directly or indirectly shall not only be expelled from the Institution, but the matter will be reported to Police / Legal authorities, for further necessary action.
