The Department of Management Studies and Research was established in the year 2009 located in Salai Godhani, Near Chikna Village, Hudkeshwar Road, Nagpur, Maharashtra. The Institute offers 2- Year Full-Time MBA Program affiliated to R.T.M. Nagpur University Nagpur and Director of Technical Education Maharashtra, approved by AICTE New Delhi.

The objectives of this program are to cater to the requirement of the industry by providing quality management professionals with managerial knowledge and skills and for managing the business. We lay emphasis on outcome-based learning. Besides imparting theoretical knowledge, the curriculum stresses on developing communication skill, problem analysis, and decision-making skills. Hence, internship, industry projects, presentations, and dissertation form an integral part of a student’s learning. Teaching in the department is highly practical and focused on the requirement of the industry as it is evolved through constant interaction with leading professionals who are a part of the Industry and Academia.

Having MOU with MAKEINTERN (Associate Partner IIM Indore and IIM Kozhikode), Department has a regional training centre for commerce and management students of Vidarbha Region and students now get the opportunity to take part in highly professional trainings and an opportunity to present themselves at TOP BUSINESS SCHOOLS like IIM Indore and IIM Kozhikode through Grand Finale Participation. Students also get the opportunity of Summer Internship Programs at reputed Companies and high probability of getting good placements thereby.

Department has a strong track record of arranging national and international study tours with strong focus on industry visits.

From The Head Of The Department

The Department of Management Studies and Research, as an academic unit of GWCET, has its distinct place as a leading unit of management education in Vidarbha. The department currently runs AICTE approved full-time MBA program of two years affiliated to R.T.M. Nagpur University Nagpur and Director of Technical Education Maharashtra, approved by AICTE New Delhi. The department provides a blend of theoretical and practical knowledge that match well with the short term & long term requirements of the industry. The department has experienced and young full-time core Faculty in all functional areas of management, who are engaged in teaching, research and outreach activities.

The department also has many Visiting Faculty from premium Business School and Guest Faculty from the industry who add value to our programs. The expertise of Faculty is the main strength of the department that facilitated us to have a distinctive national professional standing. The department offers its Faculty opportunities for research, academic independence and freedom to explore new expertise. The department has a strong mentoring system which aims to develop managers and entrepreneurs who contribute to the nation’s agenda of growth and command respect in society.

Our department provides excellent environment to the students to hone up various management skills and has a continuous process of interaction with corporate, industry leaders through workshops, seminars, lectures and other extracurricular events. Programme Outcomes (PO’s)

Engineering Graduates will be able to:

PO1. Engineering Knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

PO2. Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

PO3. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

PO4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

PO5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

PO6. The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

PO7. Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

PO8. Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
